OVERVIEW

There are a multitude of organizations that work with refugees in the Bay Area. For those of you who want to participate in helping makes the tough lives of these refugees much easier, down below are just some opportunities.

REFUGEE TRANSITIONS

ABOUT

Refugee Transitions is seeking volunteers for its Education based programs: Home-based tutoring, After-school programs, and classes. All 3 programs target a different set of ages but the goals are essentially to work help them develop crucial English skills, make academic progress, and learn how to confront the challenges of their new lives in the US. 

​

REQUIREMENTS

-must be 18+

-volunteering is long-term: minimum of 6 months or a semester

-must fill out a volunteer application (link is below)

JEWISH FAMILY AND COMMUNITY SERVICES EAST BAY

ABOUT

JFCS has several programs that volunteers work with and the organization will work with one's individual ability.

CATHOLIC CHARITIES OF THE EAST BAY

ABOUT

Catholic Charities does work all around the East Bay helping many types of people such as immigrants, refugees, unaccompanied minors and so many more.

​

REQUIREMENTS

-Simply fill out the volunteer form and they will get back to you in 24 hours with an interview to see your skills and where you would be best fit.
